Central Government Schemes FAQs
Frequently asked questions about central vs state funding and application methods
What is the difference between Central Sector and Centrally Sponsored schemes?
Central Sector Schemes (like PM-KISAN) are 100% funded and implemented directly by the Central Government. Centrally Sponsored Schemes (like Ayushman Bharat or PMAY) are funded jointly by the Centre and States (usually 60:40 for general states and 90:10 for North Eastern states) and implemented through state administrative machinery.
Can an applicant apply for multiple Central Government schemes simultaneously?
Yes. As long as you satisfy the independent qualification rules of each program, you can benefit from PM-KISAN, Ayushman Bharat, PMJDY, and other welfare initiatives at the same time.
