Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN): 2026 Guide to Eligibility & Application

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from the Government of India. It became operational on 1st December 2018. Under the scheme, an income support of ₹6,000/- per year in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each is provided to all landholding farmer families. Core Objectives 1. Protect farmers from falling into the trap of moneylenders for managing essential farming expenses. 3. Enhance rural liquidity and promote timely agricultural investments before sowing seasons. Payment Mechanism The financial benefit of ₹6,000 is directly credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode linked with Aadhaar verification.
